Basically a Punjabi dish, with a little twist with the view of healthy recipe…. 🙂

Rich in protein, calcium and Vitamin C……!!!

Ingredients:

Kabuli Channa / Garbanzo Beans – 1 cup ( Soak the beans for 6-8 hours)kadhai-chole

Jeera Powder /Cumin Powder – 1 tsp

Onion (Finely Chopped) – 1/2 cup

Ginger – 1/2 ” (grated)

Garlic – 2 cloves (grated)

Tomatoes ( Finely Chopped) – 1/2 cup

Everest Chole Masala – 2 tsp

Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp

Dry Mango Powder / Amchur powder – 1 tsp

Haldi / Turmeric powder – A pinch

Coriander / Dhania Powder – 1 tsp

Oil – 1 tbsp

Shah Jeera – 1 tsp

Salt – As per taste

Lemon Juice – 1 tsp

 

Method:

Pressure cook the soaked beans until they are soft and cooked. Drain and keep aside.

Heat the oil the kadhai, add the shah jeera and fry. When the seeds crackle, add the onions, ginger, garlic and saute` till the onions turn translucent.

Add the tomatoes and fry for 4-5 minutes. Once the tomatoes are cooked, add the chole masala, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, dry mango powder, cumin and coriander powder, salt and fry for another 5 minutes.

Now add the cooked kabuli channa/garbanzo beans  along with 1/2 cup of water and mix well.

Cook on a medium flame for another 5 minutes and then serve hot with roti/naan or any indian bread.

Optional – You can add 1/2 tsp of lemon juice before serving for a better taste.
